You know summer is coming when...

Today it has really felt like summer and here at Maison Monkey we've been having fun. Its been a joy to see Tot playing in the sunshine, perfectly content, putting spoonfuls of sand into a flowerpot and sprinkling the grass with her little pink watering can. We planted some seeds and she helped scoop compost, make holes with her finger and pat it all down, all the while copying everything I said. Her favorite new word now is 'sprouted' and all afternoon I heard from various corners shouts of amazement "Look Mummy, these sprouwwwtedd!" 
 Little Bear has also been extremely busy today. He is now getting very daring, pulling himself up precariously on the steps and the edge of the veggie patch, the latter being and interesting feast of mud and leaves. He wiggles himself around, fascinated with all the sounds he can hear and the texture of grass, wood and earth. 
 We've had no tantrums today. Tot had her fish-finger, chips and beans sat in the shade and I asked her if she liked eating outside. She actually said "yeah, birds singing and blossom a trees Mummy." Bedtime has been a breeze. Normally, Tot likes to make us tuck her in at least ten times but they were both so pooped out after their busy day that I haven't heard a peep.
