After hearing about Operation Christmas Child, I felt compelled to donate a shoebox on behalf of Monkey Stars. Inside there is a pink spotty toiletry bag, mint green face cloth, strawberry soaps, hair bands and clips and pink hairbrush. For the creative side of things there is an A4 sketch pad, small colouring book, colouring pencils, ladybird pencil sharpener and orange pencil case. I also included two small packets of Jelly Babies and a soft toy to cuddle.
On the Samaritans website there is an option to print a bar-code to place in your box. That way you get to find out exactly where your box goes. For further information and ideas please see http://www.operationchristmaschild.org.uk/
I only hope that our box helps to brighten up a little person's Christmas. It has taken barely any effort to do and has cost just a few pounds. Please get involved and do one too!
